Folding operations are mostly carried out by folding machine. There are three types of folding machines: knife folding machine, fence folding machine and fence and knife hybrid folding machine.
1. Knife folding machine: The folding knife is used to press the paper into the horizontal gap of the two rotating folding rollers, and the folding process is completed by the friction between the two rollers and the paper. This kind of folding machine has high folding precision and can fold the whole printed sheet, but it occupies a large area.
2. Fence type folding machine: The moving paper is moved along the fence through the folding roller until the baffle plate, and the paper is bent and folded under the friction of the folding roller. This kind of folding machine is fast and occupies a small area, but it is not suitable for folding large, thin and soft paper.
3. Barrier-knife hybrid folding machine: It is a folding machine with both a knife-type folding mechanism and a fence-type folding mechanism. The folding speed of this kind of folder is faster than that of the knife folder.
